The competition is open to all applicants ages 18 and up. An entrant can be made up of one individual artist or a group of artists with one designated leader.
The promotion begins at 5:00 PM CST on Friday, June 7th, 2019 and ends at 11:59 PM CST on Sunday, July 14th, 2019.
Entries must include all required form fields, including a photo of entrant(s) art piece. The original art piece must be on a minimum 4 foot by 8 foot canvas, of any material including but not limited to: wood, concrete, brick, painter’s canvas, and cinder block, and may be any design created with any medium. Users can only upload a single image per submission. One entry per individual per art piece may be submitted.
The wall is approximately: 80’ wide by 12’ tall. Designs should substantially cover the available Pick-up Window wall located on the east side of Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen Restaurant.
Picoso’s Mexican Kitchen is located on 7611 Milwaukee Avenue Lubbock, Texas 79424. Mural will be located on the East side Pick-up Window wall.
Winner will be allowed up to $500 in cost of art supplies to complete final mural.
Finalists will be contacted via telephone on Tuesday, July 17th, 2019 and must then be present at Picoso’s on Saturday, July 27th, 2019. The Finalists will then have the remaining hours of Saturday, July 27th, Sunday, July 28th, and Monday, July 29th 2019 to demonstrate a scaled-down version of their mural concept on provided canvas materials at Picoso’s in designated areas.
Finalist will be announced Tuesday, July 17, 2019, and the winner on Friday, August 9th, 2019. In order to be eligible to be selected as a winner, each entrant also must commit to paint and install the mural at the Picoso’s Mexican Restaurant before August 31, 2019.
